See if you can top this. I'm still amazed!  Cheesy

And the kicker? One projector used for the ENTIRE sequence!

My 7 year old is turning 8 this Halloween, we always have a costume party for her Birthday.

this will be the first year with my BYT set up

what to play?

the new Halloween wont go over very well with my wife or the younger kids

I would love to check out some old Abbott & Costello flix

but my soon to be 8 year old idea is

some Halloween toons like
Casper
Charle Browns Great Pumpkin
Sponge Bob
Mickeys Frankenstein short

then the main feature

Monster House

I hope my fog machine works well with my set up

this is me last year as Fred.mom and dad are the mice and my uncle scarecrow

BOO!

I love that there are people here that know about the Ghost and Mr. Chicken.  My husband and I find it hard to contain ourselves in mass when the organist in the balcony does really goth sounding solos, because it reminds us both of the Ghost and Mr. Chicken.  If anyone finds a DVD source please let me know. Well, we finally did it. My husband and I went to Office Depot tonight and bought the InFocus IN24+ Digital Media Projector. We are planning on a trial run this weekend. Whoo-hoo! I don't know who is more excited- me or my kids! Halloween plans are coming along great. We have built a huge block fire pit out in the woods and the creepy decorations are coming along just fine. We are also building a "fake" outhouse complete with a putrid toilet (real toilet, foam insulation and lots of brown shaded paint). Building this mainly to embarrass my teenage kids! We are having two huge parties, one for middle schoolers (approx 50 kids) and one for high schoolers (approx 80 kids). When someone asks where the bathroom is, we are going to point them to  the outhouse! Double feature movies- Dead Silence and Disturbia.  Dead Silence is a "clean" spooky movie. Lots of jumpy, scary moments. We are still planning on adding some surprises of our own. If you have seen the movies and can offer some suggestions on added "sneak attacks" that we can do, please let me know. We are renting a commercial popcorn machine for both parties. My husband also build a homemade coffin an insulated it so we can use it for a drink cooler. I have already had the security lights disconnected and it is pitch black in those woods. I may be too scared to go in there myself! But, by the time the movie is on, the fire is blazing and our ambience lighting is added, it won't be so bad. We haven't made a screen yet. I guess my husband will be perusing this board later tonight....

Don't you love this projector.  The picture is awesome.  We bought that model too.  Glad I went with the higher lumens.  We can begin the show right at sunset.  We are also premiering at a Halloween party for 4 year olds on the 27th.  We're watching Monster House.  I can't wait.  I can't find anyone in our area that has a setup at home.  Everyone will be so surprised.  Good Luck with your showing!

We haven't tried ours yet, but we will soon! High school marching band consumes most of our time until Saturdays....maybe then. What size is your screen and what is it made of? TIA.

Well, I kinda lucked out.  We've always had this horrible ad unused section of our backyard that was the thorn in my side.  Namely, a huge blank white stucco wall.  Now we know what to do with that horrible and unused section.  I'll be posting pics soon.  We of course, had to do some landscaping in the area and we should be done soon.  White stucco must be the perfect screen.  Honestly, the picture is almost flawless.  Best part...no set up and take down.  My husband hard wired the whole thing.  Even built a beautiful "permanent projector station."  Slate covered.  Can't wait to post pics!

Having a party on the 27th too; kids will have Curse of the were-rabbit and then its adults with halloween on blu-ray... right now im thinking about potential weather, and whether to buy a 20x10 tent and hope to heat it, or build a 30x40 awnining.

Printed the invitations yesterday.  Which were adorable by the way.  In small letters at the bottom I wrote "If it rains see you next year."  That almost killed me.  I will be so upset if it rains.  We've only been planning for 3 months.  My son will be upset too.  After all it is his party.  It's not like I can postpone a Halloween party.

Why not postpone? We did. Each party was postponed two weekends if it rained. The kids won't care. It'll just be one more thing they can do for Halloween. A party is a party....IMHO
