Hello everyone! I've loved this website since I stumbled on it about three months ago when I first got the idea for a backyard theater at my girlfriend's farm in rural Ohio. Everyone has been a big inspiration, and it's a relief to know I'm not the only one!

So, anyway, here's some shots from our first screening, Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece, My Neighbor Totoro.

our road sign, pyrographed and all.

our screen during the day

the feature presentation, and my favorite scene in the movie.

our flyer.

we've had one more since then, and will take a break this monday coming up, but will resume on monday the 20th with dazed and confused.

Welcome!

Nice setup! I love using trees! And the string lights add a magical touch to the "house".

You've got good taste in movies, too........enjoy the rest of the summer!

What does your setup consist of?

thanks for the kind words! we're pretty proud of our little setup. on the technical side, it consists of a dell xps computer (which is heavy as heck!) as the HTPC, a Dell 1800mp projector, a cheap mixboard i borrowed from a friend, and behind the screen is a P.A. system and power amp, bought from my friend who used to be in a band. Eventually, hopefully by next summer, we hope to have some sort of portable, weather proof surround sound setup, and an all in one component rack with a built in custom htpc. I'm still doing research on all of this, but I'm going to build most of it myself to save money.
