i just got a letter from the township supervisors here... before i opened it my heart started to pound and to make matters worse i just sent in my membership for the local ambulance today (so it's not in affect yet)...

anyway... i thought someone complained about my theater or worse... when i opened it i found out they are soliciting donations for a county wide conference of county officials... to me that is VERY funny... NO ONE from this township stops here, the secretary lives a 1/4 mile down the road and MAYBE stops once or twice a year. the police chief (i went to school with him) he used to stop on an irregular basis but hasn't since he became chief.

the only time i get a township official stopping is when the police pull someone over and they end up in my parking lot. i get more business from the state police and county sheriff's.

i think i will give them a coupon or maybe 2 for a discounted "Movie at their location" and see if it drums up some business for that part of my business.

sorry if this is off topic but i wanted to share it.

Good idea with a discount coupon, or if you are in a generous mood, free setup for fire department or police department or the like.

i just called the township office and every official from the county will be there... this could be a great opportunity for me. i'm planning on giving them at least 6 coupons maybe more.

i'd like to do the events or some for free but just can't do that now.
i'm thinking about including an even steeper discount for anyone who uses the coupon for a second showing.

Hmmmm......why not offer to provide free entertainment one night of the conference?  Have them come out to your place for 3 or 4 hours.  You provide the movie, they provide refreshments.
