Hi All!

I've mostly been lurking the last few weeks & have learned a lot from everybody!  For my 25th anniversary, I was planning a romantic cruise getaway.  When my DH found out, he vetoed that very quickly because it's my son's senior football season.

My DH's favorite activity on a cruise?  Watching movies on the big screen!!!  After finding this site, I brought the big screen to my backyard.  I just want to thank everybody for helping me pull off a wonderful surprise that was a lot of fun for both of us.

I sent him on a treasure hunt for the movie & snacks while I setup the projector & "theater".  He's HOOKED!!  My $10 9x12 tarp was clamped to the end of our above-ground pool deck.  WOW!  For the sound, I used my computer speakers and he's already talking about a better sound system.  He also asked if it''s possible to watch the Buckeyes.

I guess the money I had saved for our cruise will now be spent upgrading our new backyard theater!!  Grin

A cruise only lasts for a week..  A BYT can last a lifetime.  Wink

Welcome and Good Luck upgrading. Smiley

Piggy:

I don't know who the buckeyes are (guess what gender I am?) but if it's on TV we use a VCR with a tuner on it.

Where in OH are you located?  I am in Columbus (Hilliard) and we are preparing for a fun outdoor showing for the OSU USC game.  Can't wait, will sadly be my first event of the year.

Welcome to a fellow BYT'er, Ohioan, and Epson projector owner!  I've got an Epson S3 and I've heard good things about the S4.  How do you like your S5?

Welcome aboard, 1littlepiggy!

What a GREAT surprise -- and happy 25th Anniversary, btw!

Might as well throw him a bone and let him upgrade the audio, eh?  Then it'll be your turn again.  Win-Win.

Have a blast!

Go Bucks! There is nothing better than watching the Buckeyes outside on the big screen. I am just praying for some good weather in Ohio that night.

Welcome!

Great job! It's pretty obvious to ME why you've lasted 25 years!

Enjoy!

Radio Shack has an analog to digital TV converter box that also allows analog signals to pass through (so it will show both digital and analog) I hooked mine up to my projector with standard video cable (the one with three plugs, yellow, red and white) This will allow you to watch TV with your backyard theater setup.  Grin
