Hey Gang,

Next week we are doing a movie night for just the grown ups, so you better find that babysitter. We are going to do a theme night, food and movie to match, Jaws and seafood, American Graffitti and burgers, Animal House and pizza, you get the picture.  So, here is my question for all of you.  What movies do you suggest that are good action flicks, or thirllers, or....... that not only keep the audience awake, but also have what it takes when thinking about sound.  I know that I should probably know the answer(s), but what have you all deemed worthy of being shown to family and friends ?  Some have suggested " Top Gun" or what else is out there that has made you say "WOW " whilebeing seen in your back yard ? Visual and sound effects, and maybe a good storyline too !

Hey, on another note, I have been in contact with the local chapter of the  "Ronald McDonald House" and have offered to bring my setup to them, and possibly Children's Hospital.  Since it has been such a hit with the neighbors, family, and friends, I thoughtwhy not take it to those who may not be able to get out, or away, but still would enjoy a movie, indoors or outdoors.  Have any of you done something similar with your setups, taken them on the road for a good cause ?

Take care and have fun !

For sound visual and action I think "Superman returns" with 5.1, it is fantastic!
You would need a good lumens PJ as there is a few night scenes.

The Matrix.

Nothing matches that sound of a bazillion shell casings hitting the granite floor in the lobby.   Cool

I think that is a fantastic use of your movie stuff.  Keep licensing rules / laws in mind, though.  I tried to do a movie for an orphanage  (through my daughter's Girl Scout troup) and could not get a waiver from obtaining a waiver on the license.

Good luck on this.  Let us know how it works out.

Any of the Lord of the Rings flicks are great.  Awesome visuals and great sound too.  And no falling asleep in those movies...

LOTR films - sorry to disagree, but I could sleep through any of them very easily...

Starship Troopers would be one of my choices for the adults. Might have some tweenagers peering around the corner of the house trying to gain admittance. What could you eat with that film? Chocolate covered ants?
