Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm very glad to see this forum about backyard cinemas. This is great!
I started an outdoor cinema last summer here in Seattle, WA to help rasise monies for some local non-profits. We are gearing up again for this year after the tremendous success from last years' movies. Since then I've become a real evangilist for outdoor movies and will be happy to share my experience and learn from everyone here too. I help run the forum on so you'll find me posting up there as well.

On our website are photos from our outdoor cinema in West Seattle. We project onto a wall painted white (the side of the postoffice). The image size is 12' x 16' - plenty big for the 300 folks that show up in the parking lot to watch family films.

Welcome aboard, Philip!  Glad you're here.

A little town up the road from me started showing movies in the park bandshell last summer.  I think the people are really enjoying it.

Feel free to jump in wherever you want.
