Well got the gemmy screen and the infocus x1 with panamorph lens.  Tonight will be our first 'trial run'.  Probably going to  be my wife and the kids, maybe bro in law.....I am totally pumped!!!! I have wanted to do something like this for a long time.  if all goes well, we will schedule our first official opening.  Probably going to watch toy story tonight.  I will try to take some photos if I can and post them.  Wish me luck!!
The Ghoul

PS what do you guys (and gals) think  about the name?  We have been kicking it around for awhile.  The three finalists  were The Telstar, The Galaxy, or The Big O (first initial of last name).

Ghoul,
I like Telstar. But I have to admit, 'The Big O Driveway Theater' has a ring to it too. Hmmm....

Galaxy has the right ring to it. That's the one that screams "drive-in" to me. Telstar is good, too, though. Big O doesn't speak to me as much, but it's not really out of line with some of the odder historic drive-in names.

How did the show go?

The first (unofficial) show went well.  I have decided to move the screen location though to accomodate a larger audience.  Gotta say that it was even more fun than I expected (after I got it all up  and running!)  We have decided on the Telstar.   Although there was a 'Galaxy' drive in not too far from here, as well as the name of the drive in that gets demolished in Twister, my son really likes the name Telstar.  So I christen my theater the Telstar Drive-way Theater.  I just picked up a popcorn machine tonight and am in the process of cleaning it up.  Can't wait till I get the official grand opening date set.  Thanks for the responses on the name.

OK, you've got a cool name. Now, do you have the cool '60s theme song by the Tornadoes? If not, PM me and I'll help you find a copy. With that name, there's only one choice for pre-show music!

That song is where the inspiration for the name came from!  My son loves that song as do I.  I agree, what a song to open the evening with!!!
