After a few trial runs this summer, we invited many people over for an all-out BYT party complete with cookout, snacks, adult beverages etc (two weeks ago).  Unfortunately it rained all weekend (a recurring theme this summer).  Rather than cancel, I figured out a way to move my set-up into the garage.  I was limited to a 20' throw, but we still got a pretty good picture size and the party was a success.  It was a bit of a  blessing in disguise, because I hadn't really given much thought to using my projector inside.  Now that I know how well it works, I'm planning on setting it up for a few football games in the fall and winter.  Maybe I'll even open the garage door for added effect ("surround snow").

On Sunday, we gave it another try outside.  It was cloudy and cool but no rain.  We even had a beautiful full moon right above the screen.  The photos I took don't do it justice, I should have used some other setting.  I also premiered the pre-show DVD that I just finished producing after being inspired by posts on this site.  For anyone thinking of attempting this, let me recommend a program called "Womble" (just google it and get the 30-day free trial).  It's like Windows Movie Maker but much better.  This neccessarily led me to name my BYT; the "Southington Skyway" after our street name.  The night was another big hit.  We watched "The Sentinel" (not bad) but there was no second feature, as most of the guests were ready to bail once the temperature dipped into the 50s (even though I thought ahead and had plenty of extra sweatshirts and blankets available).  I personally love the cooler weather and hope to have several more outdoor showings this season, even if "attendance" suffers.

Looks like a good solution to the weather problem. I wish our garage had room to do that!

Your moonlight photo is awesome! You should use that as your gallery picture.
