We made our last trip of the season to our local drive-in (sniff).  They're only open one more weekend and we have other plans.  So, tonight was it.

We caught Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga' Hoole...

  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1219342/

It's a decent flick... not what I expected.  It's a war epic of a sort... kind of like a bunch of owls meet the movie "300".  That's not too surprising since the director, Zack Snyder, also directed "300".

Owls is very "cinematic" for an animated flick.  The rendering was deep and detailed, too.  The non-3D version was done in wide 2.35:1 format which adds to the "epic" feel.  On the downside, the story/narrative might have been a bit better.  It was also difficult to keep the owls straight during the battle scenes.  I couldn't tell who was who.  However, I had the same issue with the robot fight scenes in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  Sad

Owls was put out by Warner Bros and was accompanied by a lead in cartoon... a new Road Runner & Coyote short with an updated look and feel.  I really hope WB includes the cartoon when Owls makes it to BRD/DVD.  It's a good candidate for a BYT pre-show.  Smiley

Owl humor. Sorry.
