my cousins who live closer to it say its always packed
4 screens, can accomodate 1,500 cars, fridays (today Tongue) saturdays and sundays the first film is repeated after the second film ends, no more tiny speakers on poles; audio is Dolby sent through FM (you can use a portable radio as well).

ages 9 and up: $8.50, ages 5-8: $2.00, under 5 free

btw i barely remember the drive-in theater experience. i must have been maybe 8 or so in 1986 when i was last at one. dont remember where it was but i remember they had a Nintendo arcade upright cabinet that had Gumshoe on it. for some reason i strongly believe we watched Cobra with Sylvester Stallone.

I grew up with multiple Drive-In Movies surrounding San Diego. Now we only have two. One in Imperial Beach and one in Santee. A bit after high school the closest Drive-In to me Oceanside Drive-In closed. Many good memories at the Drive-In.. now days as an adult I just make my own.... .. now that you guys made me very nostalgic with memories I think I need to take my two boys to one of the last two remaining drive-ins in San Diego before it is to late....

confirmed. heading to the drive-in tonight. taking pictures and some video. watching mission impossible ghost protocol along with sherlock holmes (the 2nd one). i'll try to find the main dude in the video on the first post (the mexican accent dude) and maybe do a video interview (cant think of many questions) but will try to find out if the theater, as it is, is able to support itself.
when did he get involved with the d-i.
future plans (if any) such as possible upgrade to digital projection.
if possible, more history on the d-i.
how does the city view the d-i (good or bad for the community).

1pm pacific now. will be there by 5pm. see ya later!
