Do drive-ins currently in operation have intermissions?  I remember 40 years ago when intermissions were common but I have not been to a movie recently that had an intermission.  Of course I can see this being a valuable instrument to boost concessions and keeping drive-ins profitable and in business.

There is only one that is still operational in my area and I still frequent with the kids. No intermission during films, only between films. Still a great way to bond with the family at the Drive-In. Miss the good old days of the wiener jump"n into the bun Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy!!!

It has been about 3 years since I have visited an authentic Drive-in and as long as they are doing Double or Triple feature screens then yes I would imagine they due for a concessions break.

I think the last drive-in movie that I went to  was when I got stationed to Williams Air Force Base Arizona back in 1979. I took my then new British wife to one. (She had never been to one as there are not any in England) I cant remember the feature movie but I remember one of them. "The hills have eyes" was one of them. Man that was a long time ago. lol

the last one drive in i went to about 3 months back had very few ads at the beginning. then 1st movie (mission impossible ghost protocol), absolutely zero intermission break, 2nd movie (sherlock holmes 2), 10 minute intermission with modern ads only (coke and ford), then repeats the 1st movie.

it was a friday night. they repeat the first movie after the second one plays out.

We still have three Drive ins in the kansas city area, and I attend them all at least a few times each year. They all were still showing intermissions up until a few years ago. Now only one, The Boulevard still shows the old dancing hot dog intermission as well as one from the early 70s.

We used to have so many here in Connecticut, including 4 within 20 miles from my home in Waterbury!  We are down to 2 but are to far away for me to drive.  It seems like back when real estate was thriving, the land was more valuable to sell than run a drive-in.   I would love to build one!
