I downloaded the following image today (which I think is quite clever). I forgot to note from where it came.
Anyone recognize who shared this?
Also, can anyone tell me what font was used?

the font looks to be either Microsoft Sans Serf or Arial.  For mine I used Arial Bold 49.82 px all-caps for the first line of text (excluding Preview) and the third line of text.  For the word "Preview" and the second line I used Arial Black 62 px all-caps.  The two URLs I used Arial Bold 30 px no caps.

Thanks, AZJ. I ended up going with Arial too.

Should have noted the sizes, but didn't.  I just did a plain red background, but I'm going to make one with a graphic, as I like that idea.

I like them, but I'm surprised you guys arent personalizing them. You know, your name ("ANYONE SITTING IN [Oldalgebra's] BACKYARD RIGHT NOW"), theater name, etc. That's what I'm gonna do. Probably get a few laughs out of anywho who actually reads it Smiley

Of course! That's so obvious.

I think AZJazzy might have his personalization in the last line.

Back to the drawing board.

I just came across this olde thread while looking for another thread and remembered that I made one of these things for my BYT a couple months ago!

First I Googled a real one so I could copy the layout, then I asked Google to tell me what font the real ones used. I forget the font now.

THEN I did the whole thing in black first then did it all over again in white, then I put the white layer on top but slightly off-set to create some depth.

Thanks for the idea, everybody!

This is great!

Also, thanks for the tip concerning making a shadow behind the font.

I forget what I did back then, but just now I Googled "The following preview font" and one of the results I got was a Yahoo Answers page telling me that it's ARIEL BLACK, which sounds about right.

God I missed the post.....I did this in 2009 when I was doing BYT 2-3 nights a week! I would spend almost every minute of my free time either doing preshows, setting up or tearing down.  Wink

I did these when I was doing BYT for a friend that is a Wine Educator and we would invite other ppl in the Industry. I had actually used parody trailers I had found on you tube. OA/Frosty, thanks for the memory!

I used Ariel Black. Also the "red band" was done on purpose to denote "restricted" or "mature" audience only who's trailer didn't adhere to mpaa rules.

Here's a link to the wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trailer_(promotion)

In 2013 the MPAA redesigned the trailer tags and they now use the Gotham typeface: http://www.typography.com/fonts/gotham/overview/

A little blurb on it here:
