Some users are experiencing problems receiving their activation emails. Due to spamming in the forums, this is a manual process now -- at least for a while.  So expect a little delay.  If you are not receiving your activation emails, check your spam filters to allow mail from backyardtheater.com, check your junk mail folder, or drop me a note through info (at) backyardtheater.com and we’ll try to get you going.

Thanks

Randy

I'm a new member that has her "foot in her mouth"!  I promised to deliver a drive in movie experience for about 30 folks the middle of May.  I've ordered a blow up screen from Wal Mart, and am hoping someone has had experience with an Epson moviemate 62.  I found this on Amazon, is at the top of my budget, should I order?  Would this be good enough for a beginner?  Fairly easy to operate?  Sound ok?

The Moviemate line from Epson is always popular. I've not heard many, if any, bad things about any of them. I've not owned one, but all the popular consumer level projector brands these days seem fairly intuitive to operate.

The Moviemate line is great for a beginner I am still in love with my moviemate 30 four years later. So I would say the 62 should be good for you. The only question is what do you plan to do for sound. The built-in will not work for 30 people outside. Are you doing a wireless drive-in audio setup or 5.1? Audio is limited on moviemates,  that does not mean you can't do great audio you are just limited on the amount of ways you can do it.  Richard

thanks for the input, I held my breath, went ahead an ordered the moviemate 62 because of the time crunch.  I do have a small wireless speaker system, maybe the grandkids can show me how to hook it up!

Give the audio some time. In fact do a few trial runs before your party of 30.

I almost forgot welcome aboard!

Thanks!  And yes, I'll probably do several run throughs, here in So. Ga. we usually only have 2 days per year when temps are lower than 40!
