So understanding the outdoor movie is only going to appeal to some, this is going to appeal to an even smaller sect, but I wanted to recommend this speaker for those who take their setup camping.  My wife and I used to use our brookstone projector to broadcast movies on our camper, using a tablet as a media source. Neither the projector or the tablet were loud enough to hear dialogue clearly, so for about $100 we bought this speaker.  The JBL charge would connect to the tablet via bluetooth, so we could just put it in the cup holder on our camping chair and hear the movie without disturbing anyone in the camper sleeping or other campers around us.  This might be appealing to others who have noise conscious neighbors and aren't entertaining large groups.  I even used this setup in an airport terminal one time, the speaker is small enough to take in your carry on.

The sound is rich and the bass is adequate for such a tiny speaker.  The charge lasts 7-8 hours on a single charge and can even use its internal battery to charge other devices.  I have photos and a more extensive writeup here: http://www.backyardmovies.net/?p=197
