Hello all,

I'm hoping that someone can just tell me if this is possible or not. I was hoping to build a cooler speaker system to travel with my "Ultra Ultra Portable BYT" but I was wondering something.

Is it possible to be able to set up the speakers to run off of a battery with an installed amp if I want to use it as an external system plugged into a cell phone, etc and then flip a switch to run the SAME speakers as a passive set of speakers from an external amp/receiver?

If this is possible, does anyone have any suggestions on how to wire this up?

Thanks again and you can tell me if I'm crazy.

Several companies make battery powered speakers that can also be AC powered. I've never seen a powered speaker that can switch to passive and there's no point in doing so as then you're just carrying in two amps instead of one.
