I was just sitting here thinking of how I want my setup to be at my new house.  In the past I would set up my screen, a fold out table, laptop, receiver, projector, then run all the speaker wires.  It was a little bit of a chore, but worth it.

In my new house I ran speaker wire from the back porch to a receiver in my basement.  The receiver is fed by a Sonos Connect, and I have a pair of Definitive Technology AW 6500's mounted on the back of my house.  I was thinking of putting some rock speakers in the back part of my yard, and connect them to the same receiver.

My question is, has anyone used Sonos to distribute sound for their BYT?  If I could have the above set up as a permanent setup I could use it for music like I do the two speakers I have now.  Then when I set up the BYT, I could just connect my laptop to another Sonos Connect, and make that be the source for the Connect/Basement receiver.  Then when I my set up would be a table, laptop, projector, and Sonos Connect.  Wouldn't have to set up the receiver, speakers, and run the wire.

Just a thought, but I'm just curious as to if the Audio would work.  I guess I can try it out sometime with my laptop and Sonos Connect in the back yard.

I just set up my laptop in the backyard, with another Sonos Connect.  I was able to stream audio from my laptop, through the Sonos in the basement, to the speakers on the back of the house.  I had to make some changes to Compression and the Wireless Channel, but it worked out well.

The only issue is that I would like to put some speakers in the very back of the yard, and that is 88 ft from the entry point on the side of my house.  Then another 20-30 ft to my receiver.  I would be pushing the 100 ft max if I were to use 10 AWG wire.
