I picked up one of these last fall for my home theater.
I'm going to test the waters on an outdoor showing in a few weeks.
Besides the short throw, which I'm not a fan of..It's a good projector.

Wondering if anyone here has used it outdoors and their experiences with it, and the settings you use.
I'm using it with a BluRay player and a 15" screen.

Thanks!

I love this projector, it has been awesome!  I did a whole post about the projector here.  http://www.backyardmovies.net/?p=49 .  I also did a write up about using 3D outside, that is an area where I really the HD141X excels.  The only setting I have changed is muting the internal speaker.

Have you had a chance to use this projector outside yet?  I've been looking to get one to replace my Epson 710HD.  It has been in my Amazon cart for the last few months, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Not sure if there is something better out there or not.  I wanted to see what your opinion was on this projector.

I am a huge fan of this projector.  We watched Angry Birds last night with this projector, huge success, it look amazing in 3D.  To qoute several of our guests "whoa".  For the money, I think this is the best projector for an outdoor movie setup.

I have been looking at this off and on today, and still haven't been able to pull the trigger.  I'm now looking at the Optoma HD141X, Optoma HD142X, and the BenQ HT2050.  The BenQ is a little more than I really wanted to spend, but it has extremely high reviews.  I'm still reading up on the HD142X since it just came out last month.  I have heard good things about all three of them so far.
