First Movie night - A great success

After deciding to try out a backyard theater night with my dedicated Home Theater projector it was now only to tackle the daunting task of creating a frame to support the 12x 9 canvass purchased at the local Lowes (this canvas has a rubberized white backing-perfect for displaying purposes).
The frame was constructed of 1 1/4" pvc and turned out great after taking some hard lessons from other forum subscribers.
The neighbors joined us in a night of movies, karaoke and short montages of the summer antics and outings that was supported by a Home Theater PC custom built by yours truly (WMCE and Dvi output included).
We are now in the process of enjoying the Mets in pursuit of the World Series Title (I'll keep my fingers crossed) while basking in our own drive in theater atmosphere.
I hope some of the pics can do justice as the flash of cameras seem to wash out the hi def characteristics.
All in all a great success.

Nice!!
A big bunch of happy kids and that's what it's all about!!
What are you using for projector and audio?
We watched a couple movies outdoors last night and I'm finally getting my audio dialed in on this backup receiver.
Thanks for posting and welcome to the forums!

A Ben Q DLP projector and a 5.1 Pioneer receiver (my first in an evolution of receivers dedicated to a garage converted home theater - my ultimate project) were used in tandem with a bunch of oldie speakers.
They did the job perfectly.

Cool.
I've been toying with the idea of an HTPC in a blade server. Something small that will fit into a small rack. Might be a winter project. Haven't really looked into it much yet.

I hope you look into a cabinet that can keep that little monster cool - I come across many of those beasts at work.
It sounds like a heck of a project.

Welcome Jenkins,
Smiling faces is what it's all about. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I wish your Mets well, it's almost over for my Chicago White Sox.....
Don't forget to clue us in on your equipment.

Hey people -The warm weather is right around the corner and it won't be long before our first showing.
I received a couple of outdoor rock speakers this Christmas and I am curious to see how they will do.
I have also purchased and refurbished a pair of drive in theater speakers on post and will use them to gain some effect and have as a conversation piece a our next showing.
Pics will be provided as they become available.
