Well, after a few weeks of reading through this site, looking at designs and then taking the plunge and building my own... the debut of the "Backyard Flix" was a huge success to the kiddos around the neighborhood!

I put the entire setup together for $500, which included a nice plastic folding table for the projector and back speakers.

Quick Facts:
- Design is based upon kelemvor's design
- Screen is blackout cloth from Joanne fabrics with sleeves sewn in the borders
- Screen is 12.5ft by 7.5ft
- Uses a refurbished HP vp6121 projector that I got on ebay
- MOST IMPORTANTLY... the Kids simply loved it

My kids printed out cool invites for the movie and passed them out around the neighborhood.  We probably had 20+ kids for the initial showing of "A Bug's Life".  Picture looked great, popcorn (Gold Medal Fun Pop in a Stir Crazy popper) tasted great!!  I cannot wait to do it again!!!  Thanks for all the advise.  See some pics below.

Cool!  Glad the design worked for you.  And of course my design is based on tlogan's so some credit goes there too.  heh heh.

Good luck with your future showings.  We're hoping to have our first big one of the year on the 9th.
