Decided to end this season with a 20th Anniversary screening of "Scream" in a couple weeks. Last weekend, we had a great turnout for "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery"!

I'm going to do "Rocky Horror" next season, along with "Wayne's World" and maybe "American Graffiti"...

Kids are between sophomore in high school and middle of middle school, so I can't get away with kiddie/family shows anymore, it seems.

I feel like I'm running out of classic films to watch!

I always like to put together some cool movies throughout my short 5 film summer season and feel like I've gone through most of the big heavy hitters. Am I forgetting some?

Already planning next year and like to give a sneak peak of the next season. Thinking about a 25th Anniversary of "Wayne's World" in 2017. Keep in mind that my crowd is older middle school to high school.

What have been some of your most well attended, successful screenings?

Wow!

It's been so long since I've posted here, but just had to come in because we're launching our 10th season tonight with a 30th Anniversary screening of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

Putting the finishing touches on the OOC now. Beautiful warm day for it! Couldn't ask for better opening night weather!

"Back to the Future" is one of only three features we've repeated in our 9 years of doing this.

This season, it broke our house record. 30 guests! (That's a lot for our smallish backyard...)

Already settled on putting "BTTF II" into next season, as it's one of my favorites.

Just can't go wrong with "BTTF".

Sounds like you had a blast! Congrats!

Hello!

Anyone have a decent (480p) clip of the Darth Vader Cellphone Intro Ad?

Only low-rez versions on Youtube...

Thanks!

We happen to have escaped any damage from the rains that started last Monday and lasted through Friday morning here in Colorado. Whew!

Amazingly, the Backyard Theater gods smiled on us this weekend. We were able to go on with our planned final screening of the season on Saturday (Iron Man 3). A nice partly cloudy day, but skies darkened a bit about an hour before showtime.

A nice cool night, the rains held off, the show was a smashing success and we ended the season with a bang!

The next day, more pouring rain! Wow!

Best wishes to all fellow Colorado enthusiasts...hope you are all safe and well.

We watched two cartoons:  From 1943, Donald Duck in "Tire Trouble," Daffy Duck in "Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a Half Century" and, from 1987, "The Princess Bride."  Beautiful weather.  Great friends and family.  Perfect night.

"The Princess Bride" is a great movie to watch outdoors! Glad you had fun, jterhar!

We snuck in "Fast & Furious 6" to a large crowd who braved the thunderstorms that were in the area an hour before showtime!

Had to pause for a very brief shower, but have only been rained out once in the 7 years of our humble outdoor cinema. A wonderful evening, nonetheless...

Our big "Clue" night tonight!

We'll be having dinner similar to that served in the film, then a few rounds of the board game, followed by the classic film!

Have been wanting to do this for a long time....

Have a great night, everyone!

Well for the FOURTH weekend in a row we are rained out... Yes, I am getting frustrated with the weather here :/

This sucks!

Sorry to hear it!

Double features from now to the end of your season!!!!!   Grin
