1  Backyard Theater discussions / Screen specific / Re: Wind issues---16x9 inflatable on: February 16, 2009, 02:07:17 pm
Wondering where you got the "CB screen"?  Do you have a link.  I'm looking for a 16'x9' inflatable for a reasonable price.
Please let me know.
I currently use 1" EMT frame but have had problems in the wind.  I have probably sustained 20 mile/hr winds from one side but ended up bending the pipe.  I'm thinking inflatable would be more forgiving and easier/faster set-up.

Let me know if you can help.

We have the CB screen (china) and very happy..

What do you guys with infalatables do to batton everything down in case of winds..

and those who sell the service..what is the maximum wind speed that you use your screen under?

I hate to tell clients NO..but all ideas wil be welcome

1/ how to tie down the screen

2/ Maximum wind speed (16x9) inflatable

Thanks for the comments:
Screen frame is made out of 1" EMT pipe.
Screen material is 110" x 196" Blackout material purchased from e-bay seller:
Attached using 10" mini bungee cords and tarp clips (from Lowes)

Just thought I'd post a pic or 2 of my setup as well.  This is my 16'x9' screen showing Narnia last month.  Had to set it up in the sideyard between houses because of wind that day but it turned out to be a great spot with neighbor's driveway slightly lower than where the screen was placed.

Let me know what you think.

Just wondering where you got the "Let's all go to the lobby..." animated clip.  I'd love to download it if it is available.

Recently got into this after reading so many of these posts.  I bought new Infocus 4805 and Infocus X3 to compare.  Ended up taking the 4805 back...  Both projectors would have done the job but I liked the smooth images that the 1024x768 X3 produced.  It also has a brighter lumen rating of 1600.
