While it may be the first day of fall, the weather resembles a night in mid-July.

First movie night at the new house. After almost an entire year in hiatus we finally got set up for our first movie here.  I forgot how much fun this is.

Well, it's been a year since the divorce.  I'm happy to report that I will be moving out of this apartment and into a house with a very large, flat back yard.  I missed the entire season last year as my life was in utter turmoil.  My kids and I are very excited to get the Castleoak Drive-way Theatre going again.  Even though we are no longer on Castleoak Drive or on a drive-way the name will stay the same.  It'll be nice to see my new neighbors with their kids clammoring for free popcorn Smiley

Thanks.  It had been so long I almost forgot my password.  Life is so undpredictable.  One day you're sitting on top of the world.  The next, you're digging through a storage unit at 1:00 am trying to find a toaster.  It'll be some time before i set up the screen again.  Till then, I will enjoy reading all the posts that got me interested in this to begin with.

First time on the site in quite awhile.  Byt started for me in 2010.  It snowballed quickly into a hobby that I fell in love with.  Neighbors came in droves.  The local paper took pix and wrote a story on this novelty.  Upgrades including a marquee, popcorn machine, subwoofer etc. helped to keep things fresh and new for several years.  Then, everything came apart.  On Easter Sunday my wife told me she filed for a divorce.  The first thing that came to my mind were my two boys.  The second thing that came to my mind was "Where in the heck am I going to show movies for the neighborhood?"  In June the last showing at the Castleoak Driveway Theatre went off with no fanfare.  I didnt even say anything to my neighbors.  With the divorce finalized in early July, assets were divided, custody arrangements were made and the house sold in only two weeks.  The next several months were spent starting over from scratch.  Im now in a town house with limited room and neighbors I never see.  Im planning on buying a house again. But, not for at least another year.  When I do, it will be business as usual and I cant wait!   The most important feature of the future home....Width, length and elevation of the driveway.

We typically don't see low temps in the 70's this time of year.  It was a freak of nature really, I just took advantage of it.  Snow flurries forecasted for tomorrow.  Probably wont set up again till Memorial Day weekend...

It's the Starlite Drive In located near Cincinnati, OH.  It's very clean, great digital projection and everything you can imagine at the snack bar.  My kids and I love this place!

Kids loved the Muppets.

Sorry to hear about your drive-in.  We still have two within 30 miles of home. I consider ourselves extremely lucky for the two theatres as they provide my kids and myself countless summer memories year after year.  When we go to see the muppet movie tomorrow night, I will keep you in our thoughts...

Too cold to take it outside?  Take it downstairs.  My 4 year old loves to dance around during the credits of every movie he sees, doesn't matter if its at home, the Multi or the drive-in.
