Although it looks like it may be more appropriate for streaming, I think there may be some useful features (on the fly video editing).

Is Randy still the admin?

I received an random email yesterday from a nonmember wanting me to approve his submission to the forum. Dave/David, hope that helps. There is a lot of information available in the forums, although the forum is less active than in years past.

I don't think Apple unlocked the FM chip functionality on the iPhone (even though it is capable). Would have to find an alternative way to transmit.

Bluetooth possibly, but limited by short distance. Any other option would likely involve a delay (internet/wifi) which would have a delay that would make it impractical.

If someone knows of another solution, feel free to chime in.

Thanks for the input guys. I have several China made screens and just trying to see what other options for my next screen purchase.

The Lycra screen tends to sway back and forth with minimal wind. Also, screen material is not very durable/long lasting, tend to only get 1-2 seasons out of it before it starts to look aged.

Just wondering if anyone owns one.

Does the screen really handle the wind rating stated on there website?
If so, how much does the screen sway back and forth with wind blowing (at 15,20,25 mph winds). I've emailed Airscreen and a distributor and never received a response. Does anyone have video of one of their screens in windy conditions.

Also, what type of material is the screen made of? What is the usual life span of the screen if taken care of properly ( typical time one would replace after regular commercial use)?

I know the screens are pricey, but just not sure if that is related to quality or just to pay for their marketing. So far I am not impressed with their customer service (or lack there of)

Thanks

I have a B-Air Panda (I believe 1.5hp).

Able to run it with a Yamaha EF2000is.

The trick is you have to hold some back pressure on the inflation tube so the generator does not overload. Once inflated, has no problem keeping inflated or overloading. I think running watts was close to 800-900 watts (when checked with kill-a-watt meter).

Also, no issue with 1hp blower. Just flip the switch and good to go.

I'm with Sparge,

You will likely not be satisfied with the image (no matter what lumen projector you use).

It's hard to compete with the sun!

Do you have a picture of screen?

Wind rating? In mph (what would be the limit on using without the screen swaying back and forth with the wind)

Actual Weight?

Thanks Swamp

My son could not decide on which one to play on the big screen. So I guess you figured out what his final choice was.

If you do professional gigs it could be handy to have a portable power source.

@bdwalker1
I personally would not use this for professional use. It may work to power low voltage devices, but I doubt it would last long powering multiple devices (especially a blower, if using an inflatable screen).

A Slingbox may also work for this setup. Would need a decent wi-fi signal And computer near projector.

It's been a while since I looked at wireless hD transmitters, but I believe most are line-of-sight and do not do well with any obstructions.

As others have stated. No cheap way to do it outdoors during daylight hours.

LED panels are expensive (so are the high lumen projectors required for Open Air Cinema Daylight Cubes adj2Ent described in his post).

Good luck.
