They are supposed to be bundled with speakers.  They may offer this with or without speakers.  I've contacted them for a possible review, so we'll see what happens.  Looks like an interesting package.  I'll get clarification on the speakers but if you order something, my advice would be to make sure you ask.

Thanks for posting!

This product looks promising.

I found a couple links for anyone that is interested.

A review:

http://www.avscience.com/reviews/screen_the_solution_xls12_theater.htm

Sima site:

http://www.simaproducts.com/products/xl_theater.php

The only drawback for me is the lack of height between the ground and the screen.

Well, I couldn't resist the price....

I ordered the 12 foot version (144" diagonal) today from Markertek for $589. Speakers are "Optional". That's OK because I am set for speakers(JBL EON).

The salesperson I spoke to, informed me that there are two other oustanding orders out there from March and April. These will be drop shipped from SIMA but have not been fulfilled yet. Looks like I will have a wait.

I did contact SIMA yesterday via email and got a response from their rep. I may write back and inquire about the hold up.

I'll let everyone know once I get mine in.

I'm still waiting on confirmation on when my screen will ship out.

Randy,

Did they get back to you with respect to a review on this?

This size will be perfect for my small back yard and to market to people who don't have the room for bigger ones.

He did say they would ship one out for a review but we haven't gotten together on a date yet.  My contact there has been busy with trade shows and the like.  I'll drop him an email tonight.

I do like that you don't need to keep the blower running on these once they're inflated.

It's Here!

My SIMA XL-12 (144" diag) screen arrived on Wednesday.

I was able to inflate the frame inside a warehouse, due to the nasty Indiana weather as of late. I was very impressed with the quality of the construction of the inflatable frame.

Now, if the weather would just cooperate....it's supposed to be 39 here tonight.

More later.

I would be interested in the total footprint of one of these also.

Is it made from heavy duty vinyl like a bounce house or is it lighter weight than that.

thanks

Hiredpower<   What is the size of just the screen surface (in feet). I understand it uses heavy duty velcro to secure it to the sides. I have a metal screen frame and was thinking the surface might fit on the frame.  Thanks rg

12.5 ' W x 5' D (10' tall)

Here's the best picture showing the construction/footprint:

I tried to find the specs of yours (Open Air) and other manufacturer's frame material thicknesses and couldn't.
The SIMA frame is made from .6mm PVC with 1000D Substrate mesh.

RG,

The viewable portion of the screen is 10' 6" x 5' 11". There is an approx. 2" border of black PVC frame material with the grommets outside of that.

The SIMA XL-12 screen was christened tonight at my parent's house. Other than forgetting the power cords to my JBL EONs, and the rain right after the movie, the night was a sucess.

I will give you all an in-depth evaluation tommorrow.

Some quick observations:

The frame inflates just like they say...4 minutes.

The screen was laborious to attach, too many adjustments and the wrinkles did not come out (distracting).

The picture was not as bright as I would have liked (projected in rear).

The screen height was ok for 5 people sitting at the same distance, if you have more than one row...too low.(21").

Looks like the price has gone up over 400 bucks in just a few weeks. Ouch!

I see an "Email me a better price" link. It must be a manufacturer stipulation.

If you're truly interested in this, I believe Randy will be offering it here. I don't know what the price will be though.

I guess I'm glad I got mine last month.
