i started lurking here last june (2007) and have been a member here for 6 months and started showing movies last summer and finally did a major upgrade and i am now posting my pictures and specs.
Projector: Optoma HD70
Coming today (07-16-08) Epson Powerlite S4
Mixer / Amp: Behringer PMP3000 16 inputs, 1200 watts (main outs)
it has 2 stereo monitor outs and a mono out so i can upgrade to 5.1 or 7.1 in the future (i'll need external amps and more speakers for those outputs).
Main Outs: Speakon connectors / all other outs 1/4" jacks.
Speakers: Pyle PADH152, 2-15" woofers, 5"x15" midrange, 5-3.4" piezo tweeters
the woofers have 90oz. magnets, they are 48" tall and weigh 100lbs. each... ouch.
Screen: no upgrade yet, a king size sheet with pockets sewn on the top and bottom hanging on the end of my garage wall. as you can see from the pictures i need to mount a bracket to support the center yet, that will keep the sheet from gathering (it's a pain right now climbing up a ladder to straighten it out).
the bottom of the screen is about 2' off the ground and the top of the screen is about 10' up.
Microphones: 6 pack with carrying bag so those with or without talent can get up in front of the audience on my stage in front of the screen to entertain the audience (my stage is a 3' wide treated sidewalk that surrounds the garage).
Speaker Cables: 12/2 SJ cable with 1/4" jacks on both ends and adapted on one end with Speakon Connectors to mate with the amp (i need to get some shrink tubing to put over the 1/4" plug down to the SJ jacket, right now i'm using electrical tape.
Property Picture: this is my infamous 8 acres, you can see where my maze is in the upper field, there is plenty of parking in the lower grassy area.
Screen Pictures: the first one is about 50' from the screen, the second is about 200' from the screen, you can see one of the 18'x27' canopies i have (it is missing the center support pieces (i keep them in sections because they are really heavy and hard to move).
i'd love to have a CB screen and place it nearer the road for more public exposure, maybe next year or maybe if someone on here has one for sale i would buy it.
i show public domain movies (classics as i call them), usually friday and saturday nights and other nights by reservation.
my BYT is a business but i do show new releases for my family and friends at times, when they can all get together but that's hard to accomplish.
most of my advertising is word of mouth and an email list along with my website:
www.kladderstation.com/home.htmi am going to spend a couple hundred dollars this week to do some newspaper advertising.
i will try to add pictures of my setup but i'm usually rushed during a showing, setting up, greeting guests and preparing food orders.
questions ? comments ? (be nice)
