No I will probably use it to roll out the speakers as well. I generally throw them on my shoulder. They are old Realistic brand speakers and are fairly heavy. I do want to make a bracket to hang the dolly on the back of the rack while not in use though.

Picked up a media cart from a friend who works at a school. Cart plugs in and has a power strip mounted on the back. Almost the perfect height for my Gemmy without much adjusting.

The gray box is my WD Media player. I put my pre show stuff and the movie I was showing that night in Power Director 10 and created a file that I can play off of the media player. It all plays as one big file. The quality suffers a little if I copy a BD movie, but the kids don't seem to mind.

Here's mine. I used a $15 walmart plastic shelf added some casters to the bottom.
It houses my laptop, stereo, vcr (for cable channles).
I have an open air gt tuner for over the air HD channels. However I can't get it to pick up cable channels when I hook cable to it. Hence the vcr.
I need to work on my cable management a little bit more.

I really like this! This is probably the most inexpensive, and yet, still perfectly functional solution for an equipment rack. I can only make one suggestion. Can you cut down the poles on the top shelf to eliminate all of the empty space or is that space there for opening the laptop? It seems like it would be a little top heavy as is. However, it may not be top heavy at all since you have your heaviest components on the bottom.
Great job on this rack!

Thanks!
I left the poles like that so I could open the laptop. It's not top heavy at all, but the projector isn't mounted either, I take that back int he house in it's case when I'm not using it.
I also have a 32" monitor that I hook up to it to watch football on the back porch during the day.

This is my "tech rack". Is it really a tech rack if it's not technical & not rack like? Anyway, everything is inside the house with wiring through the walls to the outside. The only thing I have to o is roll out the hdmi cable & plug in the power to an outdoor receptacle & I'm good to go. All of 10 minutes tops for setup & take down. My equipment : Optoma HD66, Dish Network "Joey" for TV, Insignia Blu Ray Player, old Sony Surround Receiver and my Logitech Remote controls it all from outside. New year's EVe was going to be the premier for the new theater but rain is forecast, so we'll wait until next weekend. Between now and then I need to find a patio heater. Debating on one of the "tower" types or "fireplace" types. Will post pics of the premier.

Tronn,
This post has been on here for months now, and I've resisted saying this all during its existence. I can't stand it any longer.
The title of this posts cracks me up. It sounds so sexist. I have to laugh every time I read it.
Happy New Year, OA

Have you thought about using bigger wheels to make it easier to roll on grass?
