Fast approaching is the American holiday known as Thanksgiving! Plenty of turkeys and hams shall be consumed. Plenty of outdoor movies shall also be watched!

We plan on having 2 smaller turkeys this year. One cooked the traditional oven method. The second one shall be prepared in the most bodacious way I can think up of. Brining, smoked, deep-fried, bbq'd, the possiblities are awesome! Offer up your suggestions please!

Also it being Turkey Theater 2012, what movie(s) would you pair up with the food and subsequent leftovers? 4 day weekend/4 movie nights for us!    I'm looking for those REAL turkeys. The "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka!"'s of the movie world. The ones that should not have been released! The ones that were "featured" on Mystery Science Theater 3000! Some examples:



I got 4 movie nights with roughly 4-5 movies per night... post your turkey recipes and movie suggestions!

heres the one recipe that got me turkeyed up! wife watches The Chew. i dont watch it as im usually prepping dinner, but i listen in and besides the fact that Billy Ray Cyrus was guest host, I overheard this recipe will cure any achy-breaky heart!



This recipe uses hot sauce in the brine and also a spicy oil! the brine is a 1 hour brine although one can make it longer (a day would probably be better). this is then cooked using the frying method.

this recipe having a certain "spiciness" about it could probably pair up nicely with something so cold its hot!

another dish that could be served this season is a nice glazed spiral cut ham! we stick with Farmer John brand out here in Cali. the movie pairing for the ham is a ham itself!
