Hey!  I'm looking for a member in the Grand Rapids, MI area that might be able to do me a favor.  A group of us from Ohio have been coming up to the Michigan Winter Beer Festival in Grand Rapids for several years now.  This year the festival sold out in a record 13 hours!  Wow!  The only way to get tickets now is at local establishments and those are going fast!  Is there anyone in the Grand Rapids area that might be able to help us out by picking up tickets?  We're willing to pay a finders fee or buy you a ticket if you'd like to join us!  Time is critical though!  Shoot me a PM if you can help!  Thanks!

Other cities with places selling tickets are Holland, Hastings, Rochester Hills, Kalamazoo, and Paw Paw if that makes it easier for anyone!

I suspect you're already monitoring this but just in case:

Randy

Also, you might email Zeke, author of the mlive piece here:

Sometimes media ends up with a bunch of tradeout promo tix for events.  Or he may have a local 'in' with someone at the event. Good luck!

Thanks Randy.  I'm trying to avoid the Craigslist scalpers.  It's those (insert favorite expletive here) that caused us to get shut out.  People were buying 40 tickets at a time to sell them on CL and eBay.  There are still some tickets available locally at face value.  I'm hoping we can score some of those before it's too late.

Understood RE: craigslist.  And ya gotta have your guard up there.  I added another thought to my note above.

OK, we ended up signing up for a bus trip out of Royal Oak that includes tickets to the festival.  So, we should be all good!  Cheers!

That sounds like a nice tidy way to go to and return from, a beer festival.  Have a blast!  If you find a special pale ale that has some midwest distribution, let me know!
