true story, fred always refers to a city named El Segundo almost with magical properties. the actual city of el segundo is less than a mile from where i work. in it is a magical sandwich shop named Rinaldis and im certain thats why he always like El Segundo

I just finished watching "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World".  It wasn't on my BYT since there is sleet coming down right now, but it was a decent "End of the World" movie.

i remember ordering this movie (on vhs!) from ebay. sad to say i cant find it and been wanting a blu-ray release that will probably never happen.

its basically a post-apocalyptic world. Vegas is still there. apparently being in the middle of nowhere spares the city from any apocalypse. anyway buddy holly is alive and is a samurai!

btw its supa cheesy. exactly my kind of movie

edit: technically tonight could still be the alpaca-lips. so tonight will be end-o-da-worl movies. saturday night (so. cal. rain permitting) would be a post-apocalyptic celebration.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome would be great
i havent ever seen I Am Legend. i know i would have to hug my doggeh extra though
i'll search my local movie purveyors for Idiocracy. i remember that crazy president they got. never seen it all though

o snap son! i just remembered a lot of twilight zone tv episodes delt with end of the world AND post-alpaca-lips!

i remember seeing (through reruns of course) there was one about a lady having nightmares about the sun getting too close to earth but .... NO SPOILERS!!

another about some bank robbers that... rob a bank... then jump into body freeze containers (of course) then.... NO SPOILERS!!

probably the best one i can recall was when Rocky Balboas coach survives a nuclear blast and then.... NO SPOILERS!!

now i gotta dig through my archives for these gems!
