Thanks. Yes, this is a basement set-up. Actually my wife has absolutely no interest in my movie obsession.  She thinks I'm a nut. Our kids on the other hand are on my side.  They love watching movies.

Way back when I was a projectionist ( before the VCR ) a lot of theatres splashed their screens with multi colored lights.  I always liked this look, so that's what I went with.

very nice lighting! i've been thinking of installing "house lights" to my theater. mainly consisting of 3 small floodlights to a nearby tree. hoping it'll make setup and tear-down a breeze. now im going to add this type of lighting to my screen!   except as "up-lighting" from under-neath

Glen if you don't mind tell me more, Screen size, is that the projector on the table or is it on the ceiling> Also did you make the screen or buy it? I like the lights could for a concert video too. also, where did you get the curtain?


I use an epson 80 inch screenin the basement with my movie mate 30 on a table. I run the wires under the chairs too my 7.1 stereo & directv.

The epson power light 8100 is nested on top of the a/v tower in the back of the room.  The screen is Sherwin Williams satin white.  it measures 8 ft. X 4.5 ft. Curtains are from Lowe's Home Improvement.  They were cut to size for proper fit.  Speaker wires were fished under the carpet from front to back.
