Quick question. Is there a difference between Carl's blackout cloth, and blackout cloth you can buy at fabric stores? Was gonna hang my pull down screen in house but worried about weight, so decided to build a light weight screen.

I've built a couple screens for people using "store bought" BOC. I have to say that as far as picture quality, I think Carl's out performs them. His material is heavier, so it should hold up better as well. A screen I built a couple of years ago using discount store bought material has yellowed significantly in a non smoking home with no direct sunlight on it. I'd stick with Carl.

I bought blackout cloth from a fabric store here in Nashville and it looks just as good as Carl's fabric. However,  I imagine that the quality can vary depending on the store. For screen use, I'd buy Carl's just to be safe.

I toured the U.S. showing outdoor movies in 2010 on Carl's 16x9 screen.
Now I own eight commercial rental screens ranging from 9x5 to 30x17!

Thanks, I will go with Carl's. Saw some good prices on his website. Thanks again.
