Just got some sad news about a fellow BBQ guy that I have known on two sites. He passed a few weeks ago & we just got the word today.

You know you hear the stories about the things he did for his kids, The love of his wife & all the BBQ's he has done for friends & his community & you are close even though you have never met in life. We shared recipes & cooking tips together now he is gone.

It is the same on here with many of you. We are brothers & sisters in BYT. We are friends in a new way that would not have existed years ago. I have met a few of you & I would love to meet so many more.

I feel for his family he was so young & his daughters are still young.....just a sad moment in time.

So to all of you I wish you a great BYT year & most of all a healthy year.

Hug your family tonight.

RIP D.R. Holly

My heart goes out to their family, and I do agree, though I have met exactly zero of the  folks on this forum in person I feel the same way, like we are brothers and sisters of BYT.  I'm not trying to start a war this comment but that is why it depresses, and I get defensive sometimes when I see someone on the forum post folks to another place to discuss BYT (FB), or when I see new members aren't being approved.  I feel like I was welcomed into a family when I came along and if this forum were to die, I would loose my BYT family.

You all take care and be strong, summer is getting closer!
